Wabash Pastoral Leadership Program Application to the 2021-2022 Cohort

This application requests contact info with headshot, educational background, and ministry history, as well as several short essay questions. There is also an opportunity to upload an optional resume or CV.
In addition to the completed application form, three letters of recommendation are required. Criteria for choosing letter writers can be found at the bottom of the application, in addition to instructions for letter submission.
The deadline for submitting the application form and three letters of recommendation is April 24, 2020 at midnight.

Application materials are reviewed by a selection committee comprised of Lilly Endowment staff, program staff, previous program participants, and representatives of Wabash College.

Applicants will be notified of their status for the upcoming cohort via email on or around June 1, 2020.

Letters of Recommendation

A complete application to the Wabash Pastoral Leadership Program includes three letters of recommendation. Applicants are responsible for contacting each letter writer and following up with them to ensure that our office has received all letters by the April 24 deadline.
Letters should come from the following:
  • A leader in your congregation (e.g., senior pastor, council president, board chair, moderator)
  • A regional leader in your communion/denomination (e.g., regional minister, district superintendent, synod or presbytery official, bishop)
  • A third person with whom you have worked closely (e.g., seminary professor, senior minister, colleague, mentor, former employer, another lay leader)
Each one to two-page letter should be addressed to program Director Rev. Dr. Derek Nelson and sent as a pdf attachment to Rachel Hassler.
