1. EMERGENCY PAID LEAVE- TO CARE FOR CHILD DUE TO SCHOOL/PLACE OF CARE CLOSURE
Emergency Leave under FFRCA- employees who are eligible for the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, also know as FFCRA, can apply for leave or time off to support their students as they learn from home virtually.
• Provides full-time employees with 80 hours of paid sick time.
• Provides part-time employees with paid sick time based on the average number of hours worked over a 2-week period.
ELIGIBILITY:
Unable to work or telework due to:
• Child under 18 whose school or place of care has been closed.
Commissioned employees, Communications employees, PSTs, Recruits and EMS employees within the Police and Fire Divisions are not eligible
2. EMERGENCY FAMILY AND MEDICAL LEAVE ACT EXPANSION- TO CARE FOR CHILD DUE TO SCHOOL/PLACE OF CARE CLOSURE
ELIGIBILITY
• Any Full Time or Part Time employee who has been employed by the City of Memphis for at least 30 calendar days.
• The employee is unable to work or telework due to caring for their son or daughter whose school or care provider has been closed due to a public health emergency
• Commissioned employees, Communications employees, PSTs, Recruits and EMS employees within the Police and Fire Divisions are not eligible
3. TELECOMMUTING- TO CARE FOR CHILD DUE TO SCHOOL/PLACE OF CARE CLOSURE
Telecommuting permits an employee’s home to serve as their primary work site with Division Director’s approval.
4. FLEXIBLE WORK SCHEDULE TO CARE FOR CHILD DUE TO SCHOOL/PLACE OF CARE CLOSURE
Flexible Work Schedule - Eligible employees can apply for an alternate work schedule so they can support their students during virtual learning at home.
