Foster Agreement Terms and Conditions

Real Dog Rescue ("RDR") hereby agrees to allow the undersigned to provide temporary foster care for an RDR dog, in consideration of the following terms and conditions:

I understand that my foster dog will at all times remain the sole property of RDR. I agree not to transfer custody of the dog to anyone other than a representative of RDR and agree to return the dog to RDR upon request. If I am no longer able to provide foster care for the dog, I will immediately notify RDR. I understand that RDR will find a permanent home for the dog and that I do not have authority to give this dog to anyone who is not approved by RDR. I understand that RDR may terminate this foster agreement and foster arrangement at any time in its sole discretion. *

Yes

I agree to exercise normal care in maintaining the health and well-being of the foster dog. I agree to provide appropriate care, including adequate feed, water and indoor shelter that is properly cleaned. I agree to provide the foster dog with plenty of exercise and will always keep the dog within a fully fenced yard or supervised on a leash. I agree to never leave the foster dog outside when no one is home, or unsupervised in a yard for long periods of time and to never allow the dog to be tied up or chained anywhere. *

Yes

I may be asked to, and I will so provide, RDR with any necessary information or materials that may be requested, relating to the dog (such as fecal samples, temperature, weight, etc.) in order to enhance the care that I am providing to the dog. *

Yes

I agree to always transport the foster dog in a safe manner. *

Yes

I agree to immediately contact a representative of RDR if the foster dog becomes ill. All veterinary care must be authorized in advance by RDR unless it is deemed life-threatening by a veterinarian. I agree to personally incur the cost for any treatment that has not been authorized by a representative of RDR. *

Yes

I understand that medicines and other supplies provided by RDR are intended for the foster dog only, and are not to be administered to any animals that are not RDR dogs. *

Yes

I agree to immediately notify RDR by phone and email if the foster dog runs away or otherwise becomes missing. I agree to always keep the martingale collar and RDR tag provided, on my foster dog and to walk the dog using the martingale collar, unless otherwise instructed by RDR. If my foster dog requires a new collar or tag for any reason, I will request one from RDR. *

Yes

I understand that foster dogs may require training in basic house manners and housebreaking. I understand that the foster dog may dig, chew or exhibit other unfavorable behaviors which will require time and patience to overcome. I have been advised that foster dogs take time to acclimate to their new environment and I agree to allow the foster dog time to settle into my home and daily routine. *

Yes

I agree to carefully and slowly introduce the foster dog to the resident animals in my home. I understand that entering a new home is stressful to the foster dog as well as to the existing animals in the home and I agree to make careful introductions. I understand that the foster dog needs time and space to adjust to new surroundings and that my resident animals must not feel crowded or overwhelmed by the foster dog. I understand that introducing a new dog into my home may result in barking, growling or other undesirable behavior and I agree to properly manage the introductions. *

Yes

I agree to carefully introduce the foster dog to all resident children and adults in the home as well as to visitors to my home. I understand that it may take time for the foster dog to feel comfortable with people and agree not to overwhelm the foster dog with new people while the dog is acclimating to my home. *

Yes

Every effort is made to make sure that foster dogs are evaluated for temperament, health and overall suitability before being placed into a foster home. RDR does not guarantee the health or temperament of any foster dog. I agree to exercise caution with any new foster dog in my home. *

Yes

If I wish to adopt my foster dog, I agree to all of the terms and conditions of the adoption contract. I understand that I am responsible for payment of the full adoption fee within 7 days of adoption. I understand that the adoption fee is $400 for adult dogs and $500 for puppies under 1 year of age. If I am unable to pay the fee or otherwise abide by the terms of the adoption contract, I agree to immediately return the foster dog to RDR. *

Yes

I agree that if I fail to perform any of the acts which I have guaranteed to perform, RDR may revoke this agreement and immediately take repossession of the dog. I agree to hold harmless and release RDR and/or its members, volunteers and other individuals working for and/or assisting RDR, from all liability, claims, and/or causes of action arising from any acts, injury and/or occurrences engaged in or caused by the foster dog subject to this agreement, as well as indemnification for damages, court costs and/or attorney's fees incurred by RDR and/or its members for any court proceedings relating to such matters. *

I CERTIFY THAT NO PERSON LIVING IN THE SAME HOUSEHOLD WHERE THE DOG WILL RESIDE HAS EVER BEEN CHARGED OR CONVICTED OF ANIMAL CRUELTY, NEGLECT OR ABANDONMENT, OR IS REGISTERED ON ANY DOMESTIC OR FOREIGN ANIMAL ABUSE REGISTRY *

I HAVE READ AND FULLY UNDERSTAND THE FOREGOING FOSTER CONTRACT AND AGREE TO BE BOUND TO ITS PROVISIONS. BY TYPING MY NAME IN THE SIGNATURE BOX BELOW, I AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THIS AGREEMENT.
