Dear Brave Parent,
It is with sadness and regrets that we have made the difficult decision to cancel the May 15th tournament in Orange.
As you know, last week we sent out a message explaining that the tournament was in jeopardy if we did not have more registrations, and unfortunately, only 10 more came in. We greatly appreciate the effort that each of you made to help bring more kids to the May 15th tournament! Unfortunately, we just didn't get the response needed to be delivered under our customer care and quality standards.
Our mission at Brave Jiu-Jitsu is to bring you an amazing kids tournament with quality matches for your child. More kids, higher rates of quality matches are possible. Unfortunately, when registrations are too low, it does not translate into a quality kids tournament.
It is one thing to have 90 kids for an “in-house” tournament where everyone knows everyone and it is a more close/family "controlled environment". It’s not the same for a more competitive/public-focused tournament. They are all fruit, but one is an orange and the other one is an apple. You get it…
Running a tournament with 90 kids, most brackets would be 2 athlete brackets, age and weight divisions would be stretched in an effort to get everyone to compete and have a great time and many kids would not even have a suitable match, especially for yellow and orange belt kids. This results in a high percentage of refunds. We want kids to be matched as best as possible (belt, weight, age), and right now it just will not happen.
Lastly, in full transparency, while we do not operate Brave with the purpose to make a large profit... we operate make a positive impact and a huge difference in the character development of each of our Brave martial artists! The combination of freezing our rates, increased costs of facility rental, gas price surge (equipment and staff to and from Orange), and because we value the great time contributions and talents of our amazing Brave Team, and will not compromise on their pay, we can't operate this tournament without a substantial financial loss.
We are issuing everyone a refund. We are hopeful that we will have an opportunity to bring you an amazing Brave Kids Tournament experience in the LA/Orange County area in the near future.
As always we are grateful for your kindness, support and understanding. There are some amazing SUPERSTAR PARENTS that made some great contributions to this entire process! Wow! THanks for all the encouraging e-mails. Maybe we see you in Las Vegas!
We are happy to answer any questions you may have! Please don’t hesitate to reach out via e-mail, text, or call us (Caio) at 661-618-2590. Would love to talk to you! Really would! Hope to connect with many many many more amazing BRAVE PARENTS!!!
🦁 Be Blessed! Be Brave!
With grateful hearts, ❤️❤️
