Summer Riding Camp 2020

Our camps are available for children ages 5 to 15. This is a structured program designed to build strong skills in riding, horsemanship and stable management.

The goal is not only to teach horseback riding in a fun-filled environment but also teaches the importance of safety when working with horses but also respect, responsibility and care towards fellow riders and horses.

The information collected in this form will be used for internal records and scheduling ONLY. We will NOT distribute this information to any third parties.

What Campers Need to Bring

  • Peanut free lunch with lots of snacks
  • LOTS of water, we recommend bringing a minimum of 1 litre
  • A change of shorts or capris for games while not riding (optional)
  • Hats, sunscreen & bugspray (Warm Months)
  • LOTS of warm layers (Cold Months)

What Campers Need to Wear

  • ASTM Approved Riding Helmet, MJM Riding School will provide a helmet or you may bring your own
  • Long pants such as jeans or leggings for riding (No Shorts, Capris or Skirts)
  • Sturdy boots that cover the ankle with at least a 1” heel such as rain boots
  • If you have riding attire such as breeches, paddock boots & half chaps you can absolutely wear these
  • Thin gloves such as gardening gloves (optional)

Single Day of Camp 9:00 am – 4:00 pm: $300.00 tax included per camper 

Before Care 8:00 am - 9:00 am: $50.00 tax included per camper for all five days

After Care 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm: $50.00 tax included per camper for all five days

 

Payment Due Date: THREE Weeks Before first day of Camp. Your spot is not guaranteed and booked until payment made in full.

Refund & Cancellation Policy

MJM Riding School fully understands how life circumstances can change and how learning to ride, connecting with the horse and instructor can have its challenges. We do our absolute best to accommodate any changes that need to be made to your purchase including lesson dates, horse preferences and instructors. To help keep our program running smoothly for everyone involved we have the following refund policy:

Riding Lessons (Sessions Program): We are unable to provide full refunds. Each rider has the option of cancelling one lesson per session & will be issued one make-up lesson or credit the same value as the initial purchase, only if 24 hours written notice via email is provided. If MJM Riding School does not receive 24 hours’ written notice via email of a lesson cancellation the rider will not be provided with a make-up lesson or credit. If a lesson is cancelled by MJM Riding School a make-up lesson or credit of the same value as the initial purchase will be issued & will not affect the riders one, make up lesson or credit per session.

Riding Lessons (Four Lesson Package & Single Lesson) & Stable Management Lessons: We are unable to provide full refunds. Each rider will be issued a make-up lesson or credit the same value as the initial purchase if 24 hours written notice via email is provided. If a lesson is cancelled by MJM Riding School a make-up lesson or credit of the same value as the initial purchase will be issued.

Part Boarding: We are unable to provide full refunds. Each rider will be issued a make-up lesson or credit the same value as the initial purchase if 24 hours written notice via email is provided. Part boarders have the option of cancelling one lesson per month & will receive one make up lesson per month only if 24 hours written notice via email is provided. If a lesson is cancelled by MJM Riding School a make-up lesson or credit of the same value as the initial purchase will be issued.

PA Day & Holiday Camp: A refund minus a $20.00 cancellation fee will be provided via cheque, only if written notice via email of cancellation is provided two weeks prior to the scheduled day of camp. If camp is cancelled by MJM Riding School a full refund will be provided.

March Break and Summer Camp: A refund minus a $50.00 cancellation fee will be provided via cheque, only if written notice via email of cancellation is provided two weeks prior to the first scheduled day of camp. If camp is cancelled by MJM Riding School a full refund will be provided.

For Birthday Parties / Group Events: A refund minus the $50.00 deposit will only be provided via cheque, with written notice one week prior to the party / event date.

Waiver & Release of Liability

In consideration of being allowed to participate in equestrian sport of MJM Equestrian Centre, MJM Riding School and Daisy Meadows Equestrian including related events and activities, the undersigned acknowledges, appreciates, and agrees that:

  • The risk of injury from the activities involved in equestrian sport are significant, including the potential for permanent paralysis and death, and while particular rules, equipment, and personal discipline may reduce the risk, the risk of serious injury does exist; and,
  • I KNOWINGLY AND FREELY ASSUME ALL SUCH RISKS, both known and unknown, EVEN IF ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEAEES or others, and assume full responsibility for my participations; and,
  • I willingly agree to comply with the rules and customary terms and conductions for participation. If however, I observe an unusual significant hazard during my presence of participation, I will remove myself from participation and bring such to the attention of the nearest official immediately; and,
  • I, for myself and on behalf of my heirs, assigns, personal representatives and next of kin, HEREBY RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS MJM Equestrian Centre, MJM Riding School and Daisy Meadows Equestrian, their officers, officials, agents and/or employees, other participants, sponsoring agencies, sponsors, advertisers, and if applicable, owners and lessors of the premises, used to conduct the equestrian sport (“Releasees”), WITH RESPECT TO ANY AND ALL INJURY, DISABILITY, DEATH, or loss of damage to person or property, WHETHER CAUSE BY THE RELEASEES OR OTHERWISE.

FOR PARTICIPANTS OF MINORITY AGE (Underage of 18 at time of Registration)

This certifies that I, as parent/guardian with legal responsibility for this participant, do consent and agree to his/her release as provided above, of all the Releasees, and, for myself, my heirs, assigns, and next of kin, I release and agree to indemnify the Releasees from any and all liabilities incident to my minor child’s involvement or participation in the equestrian sport described above.
