What Campers Need to Bring:

Attire: It is important that campers have appropriate attire for riding. This includes close fitting pants or jeans, tough boots that cover the ankle with at least a ½” heel, (such as rain boots) and thin gloves (such as garden gloves) Riders can bring their own ASTM certified helmet or rent one from MJM for a cost of $10 for the week. ALL riders will be required to wear a helmet when riding or working around horses. Wearing riding attire such as breeches, paddock boots and half chaps is also encouraged. Any camper that does not come to camp with riding attire will not be permitted to ride as it is a safety concern. Please dress your children warmly in many layers as it can be cold! We also recommend purchasing hand and toe warmers such as "Little Hotties" brand.

Our camps run all year round in different types of weather so please also dress your child appropriately for the weather with lots of layers when needed. In the summer months a change of clothing for water games or shorts for when not riding horses is recommended. In the winter months dress warmly in lots of layers!!

Food: Please pack a peanut free lunch, snacks and lots of water. Our facility is in a rural area on a well system and our water is non-potable. Please pack all the food and water your child will require for the day. We have a Tuck Shop that sells treats and drinks for $1-$2, campers can bring cash to purchase. Friday is our pizza party, lunch with a drink and treat is provided.

Location: The Academy is located at 6095 Dickenson Rd Eeast, Hamilton, Ontario. However the entrance to the riding school is off Nebo Road. It is the second entrance on the right if you are heading south on Nebo, past Dickenson. The barn is immediately on the right hand side as you drive in, and you'll see a sign for the riding school. If you get lost just ask anyone for the riding school.
