INDIAN VALLEY MIDDLE SCHOOL PARENT VOLUNTEER REGISTRY

Thank you for your interest in volunteering to help the faculty, staff, and students within school activities.  Signing up to be included on the volunteer roster will help us in volunteer recruitment efforts and coordinate communications to parents.  Your signing up on this site does not commit you - a separate communication for each event will provide activity information and solict your volunteer commitment (could include set-up, chaperoning, fundraising, donating food or other items, event support, etc.)  Request and use of volunteers is up to the activity faculty coordinator / lead.  

 

Information on Volunteer Clearance

As per Board Policy 916  (https://go.boarddocs.com/pa/sasd/Board.nsf/goto?open&id=A3QGUR457E1B), there are 2 types of volunteers. One is a casual volunteer, and one is a program volunteer.

• Casual volunteers come to the school infrequently (less than 10 hours per school year) and may only work with students in the presence of a teacher/administrator. They only need to fill out the SASD Volunteer Registration and Disclosure Statement and be screened through the Raptor System upon signing in. Examples of this would be Picture Day, Bingo Party, Book Fair, Pink Out, Pretzel Day, Activity Nights, Assemblies, etc. 
• Program Volunteers Provide recurring assistance (10 or more hours per school year) or chaperone field trips. From time to time, they have or may be reasonably expected to have unsupervised contact with students. These volunteers need all of their clearances (Criminal History, Child Abuse, Fingerprinting). These volunteers chaperone field trips, help athletic teams regularly, etc.
